Jade Plant

The Jade Plant (Crassula ovata) is an elegant indoor plant cherished for its distinctive appearance and simplicity of care. Native to South Africa, this succulent is part of the Crassulaceae family and is often called the money plant or lucky plant. The Jade Plant boasts fleshy, oval-shaped leaves with a rich green hue, and thick, woody stems that give it a miniature tree-like aesthetic. It is also believed to attract good luck and prosperity, making it a favorite among plant enthusiasts.

  Water and Fertiliser –

For optimal growth, the Jade Plant should be watered deeply but infrequently, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. This typically means watering once every two to three weeks, depending on the environment. Use a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer once a month during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce watering in the winter when the plant’s growth slows down.

  Lighting and Temperature Requirements–

The Jade Plant thrives in bright, indirect light but can also tolerate some direct sunlight. It prefers a temperature range between 15 to 24 degrees Celsius and should be kept away from drafty windows or cold air. While it is adaptable to a variety of lighting conditions, ensuring it receives plenty of light will encourage more vigorous growth and vibrant leaf color.

For best results, prune the Jade Plant to maintain its shape and encourage bushier growth. Keep an eye out for pests like mealybugs or spider mites, which can be managed with neem oil or insecticidal soap.
