Sansevieria ’ zeylanica’

The Sansevieria‘zeylanica’ is a stunning plant that is perfect for any indoor garden or office space. This big variety of snake plant has gorgeous dark leaves with green margins, making it an eye-catching addition to any room.

The Hahnii is a type of snake plant, which means it’s incredibly easy to care for and requires minimal attention. It’s a slow-growing plant that can reach up to 6 inches in height, making it perfect for small spaces or as a tabletop decoration.

This plant is also known for its air-purifying qualities, as it removes toxins such as formaldehyde, benzene, and trichloroethylene from the air, promoting a healthier living environment. This was found in NASA’s benchmark 1989 research – ‘Clean Air Study’.

  Water and Fertiliser –

Taking care of the Sansevieria ’zeylanica’ is simple and straightforward. Water the plant when the soil is completely dry, making sure to not overwater as this can cause root rot.
Fertilise the plant every two months during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced organic fertiliser.

  Lighting and Temperature Requirements–

This plant can thrive in a variety of lighting conditions. Keep the plant away from cold drafts and temperatures below 10°C. You can also grow this plant outdoors. If you are planning to switch the plant from indoors to outdoors, keep it in semi shade for 2 days so that the plant can acclimatise.

When repotting, use a well-draining potting mix and a pot with drainage holes. Remove any dead or yellow leaves regularly. Sansevierias are toxic to pets if ingested, so keep them out of reach.
